Harry and Ginny?
the happy couple
Some people have been shipping certain couples in mediums for quite some time. They never stray from that single point of origin and the fact that they fell in love with them for the reason that they believe they mesh. Mine was Ginny and Harry, partially because I felt a sort of comraderie with Ginny and the way she was utterly devoted to the dorky, but utterly charming, Harry.Being as I devoured the books as if they were candy and am still seeing all the movies as they come out (even though some of the adaptations are leaving out parts I think would really be better left in), I have not, in my entire time reading the Harry Potter series shipped a couple so hard as I have these two. Ginny's devotion in the beginning was childish, and brash, and seemed as if it were built on stories instead of the actual man, and Harry didn't see her at all for the longest time, she was just Ron's little sister, and nothing more than a friend or confidante. I had faith, though, that these two would find a way (even though they /are/ fictional characters) to be together, and J.K. Rowling did not disappoint in that matter.
Watching Ginny grow up from the teenage girl who was utterly obsessed with being with a boy she barely knew, to being a confident woman in love with the man she knew better than nearly anyone because she was willing to sit back and love him regardless of his feelings for her, and not let her life stop because of it, made he fall in love with that level of devotion. The way Harry finally realised, staring at her, that he'd found his soul mate some time ago in the girl, now a woman, who prodded his heart back from the edge of oblivion so many times, giving him strength to go on, just... it's amazing to me. They /are/ my cannon ship, and my dream-ship. They remind me so much of me in a few of my relationships. Absolutely devoted. Absolutely destined
